Men's Basketball Handles Wentworth, 91-56
BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Wentworth, 91-56, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup from Tansey Gymnasium.
Elijah Kinney (Nashville, Tenn.) led the way with yet another double-double. He posted 22 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3PT, 3-4 FT) and 11 rebounds (eight defensive, three offensive), while also sending back a career-best six blocks.
Marcus Montagnino (Gloucester, Mass.) also managed a double-double, as he logged 13 points (5-8 FG), 11 rebounds, four assists, and a steal in just 22 minutes played.
Joey DaSilva (Windham, N.H.) rounded out the double-digit scorers with a 10-point performance (3-6 FG, 3-6 3PT, 1-2 FT) from off the bench.
After a back-and-forth first 8:42 of play, DaSilva's catch-and-shoot triple rained down to give Endicott a 21-19 lead.
From there, the Gulls scrapped together a 13-0 run courtesy of three-balls from AJ Forte (Peabody, Mass.) and Montagnino, as well as a tough bucket inside from Liam Dunfee (Nahant, Mass.) to pull ahead comfortably.
They continued to roll into halftime, as they ended the first 20 minutes leading 48-25.
The Blue and Green kept the momentum going through to the second half. An 11-2 run out of the gate highlighted by a tough and-one from Caden Sullivan (Franklin, Mass.) essentially put the dagger in the Leopards.
Late contributions from Jason Romans (Peabody, Mass.), Reece Goodman (Binghamton, N.Y.), Jack Lewis (Clinton, Mass.) and Max Grenert (Beverly, Mass.) solidified the dominant road victory for the Gulls.
