EAST BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 12 Endicott men's ice hockey team tied Suffolk, 2-2, on Friday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.
Ben Jenkinson (Nantucket, Mass.) and Lou Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.) provided the offense for the Gulls with back-to-back tallies in the first period (6:47, 19:57) to take a 2-1 lead.
From there, Suffolk answered back with the equalizer at the 8:15 mark of the third, forcing an overtime period which featured zero shots on goal by either team (EC – 4 blocked shots | SUF – 1 block, 1 wide).
In the shootout, Endicott freshman forward Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.) was the lone skater to score, burying his team's third attempt on the night.
Matt Schoephoerster (Crosslake, Minn.) made a save on the Rams' rebuttal to secure the extra point in the standings.
The freshman netminder finished the contest with 27 saves in his first career start (0-0-1).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 16-3-2 all-time against Suffolk.
- The Gulls are undefeated on the road this season (2-0-1).
- Jenkinson netted his fifth career goal (first this year).
- Kamienski buried his second career goal.
