No. 12 Men's Ice Hockey Rolls Nichols, 4-0
HARRISVILLE, R.I. — The No. 12 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Nichols, 4-0, on Saturday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Levy Rink.
Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.) got the scoring started on the power-play for Endicott with 5:20 remaining in the first period. The freshman snapped home his third goal this season from the right faceoff dot off feeds from Lou Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.) and Noah Gibbs (Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada).
The Gulls would double their lead with an Anthony Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) tally just one minute and 28 seconds later. The sophomore's wrist shot got through traffic in front and beat the Bison goalie short side.
In the second, Gibbs stole the puck from a Nichols forward and raced down the ice to bury a shorthanded goal at the 10:48 mark of the second period.
Taybor Aldrich (Williston, Vt.) then made it 4-0 with 5:31 left in the second period. Following a breakout pass from Cafarelli, the freshman was one-on-one with the goalie, got around him, and buried his second goal of the season.
The Blue and Green held Nichols scoreless the rest of the way to secure the road conference victory.
Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) stopped 23 saves for the Gulls as his record goes to 6-1-0 this season.
