Shinney, Bracey Earn Weekly Honors For Women's Basketball
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's basketball junior guard Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) and freshman guard Aleah Bracey (New Bedford, Mass.) have been named the Conference of New England's (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Additionally, Bracey was also named New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week, which accounts for all women's basketball student-athletes throughout the New England area.
EMMA SHINNEY | CNE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
In Endicott's 2-0 week (2-0 CNE), Shinney guided the Gulls with her averages of 17.0 points (11-22 FG, 2-4 3PT), 8.5 assists, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals.
On Wednesday at Gordon, she led the Gulls to a season-high 81 points (81-75 road win) thanks to her 18 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3PT, 9-17 FT), five dimes, three boards, and four steals.
Then, in Saturday's 75-60 home win against Suffolk, she picked up her second career triple-double (second this season) with a stat line of 16 points (7-14 FG, 1-2 3PT, 1-4 FT), 13 rebounds, and 12 assists.
She is one of 13 student-athletes in Division III to record a triple-double this season, and just one of two with two-plus. Shinney ranks second on the list behind Hunter College's Alexa Charles (Tarrytown, N.Y.), who has recorded three triple-doubles this season.
This marks the junior guard's third career CNE Player of the Week honors (12/16/24, 12/1/25).
