Women’s Basketball Bests Wentworth, 73-32
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Wentworth, 73-32, on Wednesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at MacDonald Gymnasium.
The Gulls shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, leading 42-13 at the break, and never looked back in the contest to secure their fourth straight victory.
Aleah Bracey (New Bedford, Mass.) paced all scorers with 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-6 3PT).
Meanwhile, Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points (5-6 FG), six rebounds, and a game-high six assists.
Mia Gentile (Somerset, Mass.) and Avery Brown (Canton, Conn.) also sparked the hosts off the bench with 12 points (career-high) and 10 points, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 41-3 all-time against Wentworth.
- The Gulls have won 19 straight in the series.
- All specialty stats favored the Blue and Green, including points from turnovers (34-2), points in the paint (38-18), second chance points (9-5), fast break points (10-0), and bench points (33-7).
- Endicott's best scoring run came in the second quarter (11 points, 7:37-3:34, 34-9 lead, Shinney team-high six points).
- Mia McGarrity (Ridgefield, Conn.) pulled down a career-high-tying nine rebounds.
