NEWBA RELEASE | D3HOOPS.COM RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's basketball junior guard Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) and freshman guard Aleah Bracey (New Bedford, Mass.) have earned representation among the D3hoops.com and New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) postseason awards, the organizations officially announced this week.
Shinney was featured on the D3hoops.com All-Region II second team as well as the NEWBA All-Region second team.
Meanwhile, Bracey was named the NEWBA Rookie of the Year.
EMMA SHINNEY | CONSENSUS ALL-REGION SECOND TEAM
Shinney was named as a D3hoops.com and NEWBA All-Region honoree for the second time in her career (2024-25).
The junior point guard produced a historic season for the Gulls in 2025-26.
She posted averages of 14.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.6 steals per game, and 0.4 blocks per game across all 26 games (26 starts).
She led the team in points (381), rebounds (185), assists (155), and steals (67) over the 26-game season.
Her averages of 14.7 points (4th), 6.0 assists (1st), 7.1 rebounds (7th) and 2.6 steals (1st) all ranked among the top 10 in the CNE.
On the national scale, her assists and assists per game both rank fifth in Division III.
However, her most impressive feat this season was her nation-leading three triple-doubles.
Back on November 25 against Tufts, she became the first Gull in program history to notch a triple-double with her 23 points (11-14 FG), 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.
She then added two more triple-doubles down the stretch of the season, one of which came on January 17 at Suffolk (16 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists) and the other on February 11 at UNE (16 points, 17 boards, 11 dimes).
She gained national attention for her record-setting performances. On January 21, 2026, the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) named Shinney its "National Player of the Week." She was the first student-athlete in Endicott women's basketball program history to earn the award.
Through just three seasons, Shinney has written her name all over the Endicott women's basketball record books. She has already surpassed the 1,000 career point threshold, is just 14 assists shy of the program record (472), and ranks 11th all-time in rebounds per game (6.1).
With these postseason awards, she cements herself as the only Gull in program history to be named a multi-time All-Region honoree.
ALEAH BRACEY | NEWBA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Bracey is the first Gull in program history to earn the NEWBA Rookie of the Year award.
The freshman guard averaged 12.7 points and 3.0 rebounds over her 26 games played (all starts).
Her sharpshooting was a key factor down the stretch of the season for the Gulls. She shot a lights-out 61-158 (41%) from downtown on the season, and on three separate occasions, she drained seven triples in a game, which is the most by an Endicott freshman and one off of the program's single-game record.
One of her signature performances occurred back on November 25, 2025 against Tufts. In 42 minutes against the Jumbos, she finished with 25 points (9-16 FG, 7-13 3PT) and was the game-high scorer, nailing a ton of clutch shots down the stretch to send the game into overtime.
Later in the season, she logged back-to-back 27-point performances against Gordon (1/14/26) and Suffolk (1/17), and sunk seven triples in both of those contests.
Another iconic moment came back on February 11 against UNE, when she knocked down a corner triple to give the Gulls a late-game lead with just 22 seconds remaining. That shot wound up being the game-winner in a back-and-forth affair with the Nor'Easters.
Down the stretch, she earned herself four CNE Rookie of the Week awards (12/1/25, 12/15/25, 1/20/26, 2/9/26) and two NEWBA Rookie of the Week awards (12/2/25, 1/20/26), showcasing her brilliance throughout her rookie season.
YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott (17-9, 13-3 CNE) saw its 2025-26 season come to a close after its loss last Friday, February 27 to Western New England.
The Gulls clinched the second seed in the CNE after their top-notch regular season, which clinched them a spot back in the CNE Semifinals for the second straight season.
However, they were unable to advance to the CNE Championship, and consequently were not selected for the NCAA Tournament in 2025-26.
