WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The No. 11 Endicott women's ice hockey team tied Western New England, 3-3, on Saturday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Olympia Ice Center.
Western New England earned the extra point in the shootout, as Lilly Ainley (Cranston, R.I.) buried the Golden Bears' sixth attempt in the shootout.
The Gulls held three separate leads in the contest before Western New England forced the eventual shootout session with a late second period goal (16:46).
Ava Schmidt (St. Cloud, Minn.) and Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) both scored in the first (1-0, 3:13 | 2-1, 12:58), while Ella Rago (Westford, Mass.) found the back of the net in the second (11:07).
Between the pipes, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 16 saves in the draw, moving to 10-2-1 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Western New England is 7-3-1 at home.
- The Golden Bears are undefeated in their last eight games (7-0-1).
- Schmidt finished with two points on the night (1g, 1a), marking her second multi-point game of the season (third career).
